What kind of house is this? Gothic Revival.

East Texas, over 100 years old. Built with square nails and pegs in the window sills.

The oldest deed I have is dated 1882, although it covers several hundred acres. Gothic Revival was popular from 1840 to 1880, so it could indeed have been built in 1882.

It has one story set on pier and beam, and a crawl space under it. The attic is one big room. I wish it was a full two story house, and bigger! It has high ceilings so it looks bigger in square footage than it is. One fascinating thing is that it has the most peaceful vibe of any house I have ever been in. The oldest deed I have for the original property, for 500 acres, dates back to 1882. Thanks for visiting!
